Here are some ways to help support Rock Creek Valley:

PTA Membership:

Join the PTA by simply completing the membership form and enclosing your membership dues ($8 individual, $12 family). Membership forms are available in the school’s front office, at the Open House, the Back-to-School nights and at any other PTA event. You can also download the membership form here.

Volunteer:

Whether you have 1 hour per month or several, any help is needed and appreciated! You can sign up for helping at any of our events, the classroom parties, the fundraisers, or by becoming a PTA officer or coordinator. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Trish Safford at Patricia_Warnock-Safford@mcpsmd.org. Maybe you have a special talent, hobby or profession that could help us out? If you let us know what you can do, it would help us in the future!

Fundraising:

The PTA has two main fundraisers throughout the year: The sale of gift wrap and accessories through the Sally Foster catalog and the Scholastic Book Fairs held at the school’s Media Center in September and in April. Stock up on Holiday gifts and books or ask your family, friends and neighbors to help us out! For those living out of town, Sally Foster has online ordering available. Use group ID 501340 for RCV credit.

RCV Spirit Wear:

We have a great selection of RCV Spirit Wear: rubber bracelets, pennants, t-shirts, sweatshirts and shorts, ranging from $4 to $22. Please complete the Spirit Wear Order Form, enclose a check or money order and return to the PTA box at school.

Safeway/Giant:

Register your Safeway Club and/or your Giant Bonus Card in the RCV PTA program. There is no cost for signing up and the program gives up to 3% back to the PTA. Simply complete our form passed out at the beginning of the school year or register your Safeway Club card online at https://secure.escrip.com/jsp/supporter/registration/step1.jsp (use RCV’s group ID 6558625 in the first step). You can also link your Harris Teeter VIC card to our school (school code: 7265) at the Harris Teeter website.

Box Tops for Education Coupons:

Let’s clip! Ever noticed those little coupons on the packaging of your favorite groceries? If you cut them out and give them to the PTA, we can redeem them for cash. There are hundreds of participating products, like General Mills cereals, Betty Crocker mixes, Pillsbury rolls, Yoplait yogurts, Ziploc bags…just to name a few.

The money raised from these activities has gone to support RCV staff and to enhance and enrich our students’ learning experience. Over the past school years, funds raised by the PTA went to numerous school family events, school parties, the purchase of a laptop computer for teacher planning meetings and other much needed school technology upgrades, ponchos for the school patrols, a permanent bike rack, as well as other purchases.
